Plushies are cute and soft and huggable, but when was the last time one was actually useful? When has a plushie graduated from mere decorative artifact? When has a plushie saved your life!?

These newDragon Quest Xstuffed critters may not save you from the maw of real-world peril, but they will offer some assistance to virtual adventurers. Based on the Omutsukkori and the Whip Ghost, two new monsters from the upcoming Wii / Wii U RPG, these plushies come bundled with a single-use item code for the game itself. The code can be redeemed for an item set containing three medicinal herbs, three branches, three pieces of string, and an orb that temporarily increases gold and experience acquisition. Only one code can be used per game account, so no stacking of codes doesn’t seem likely.
