Good news for adventure game fans: Nordic Games and KING Art are working on a prequel to the quirky 2009 adventureThe Book of Unwritten Tales. Best of all, this new game,titledThe Critter Chronicles,will be releasing on July 14, 2025.
Like its successor,The Critter Chronicleswill take place in Aventasia and will follow the trials of Nate Bonnett as he befriends his odd but loyal sidekick Critter. As a side note, for those of you rocking thepenguin OSand Steam, the original adventure is currently in its beta phase and available to all for a limited time.
I have never been much a patient gamer, so I usually have a tendency to steer away from point-and-click adventures. WithThe Critter Chronicles, I’m not sure if it’s the odd humor, colorful art style, or strategic use of adorable penguins, but I can’t wait to see more. It’s probably the penguins.
