The Forest Maze is one of the most iconic areas inSuper Mario RPG. Between the music and following Geno through the woods, it’s just a memorable experience. That said, remembering all the secrets in the Forest Maze is another matter.

There are six hidden chests in the Forest Maze. That’s roughly 15% of all the hidden chests in the game! Fortunately, once you know where to look, these aren’t terribly difficult to uncover. Below you’ll find each and every treasure.

All treasure chests hidden in the Forest Maze inSuper Mario RPG

#1: At the forest entrance

Immediately upon entering the Forest Maze, there’s a hidden chest to uncover. Right before the pathway leading further into the woods, jump up in the top left corner. You’ll find a valuable Croaka Cola inside.

#2: After the first underground section

In the Forest Maze, you’ll need to pop in and out of the underground via tree stumps. Right after you emerge from the underground for the first time, look to the left of the tree stump. This will net you a Frog Coin.

#3: In the right-most stump

After you uncover that last chest, you’ll enter an area with several stumps leading to the underground. The stump furthest to the right (at least from your perspective) hides a hidden treasure chest near the middle of the room. See the above image for reference.

Granted, your prize for finding this one is… uh,nothing.

#5: In the left-most stump

Finally, you’ll see a stump that stands by itself above the other columns of stumps. The hidden chest here is in the top-left corner of the area.

#6: After the forest maze

The location of this chest is actually different than the SNES version. In the original game, before you entered the “Lost Woods” section that has you following Geno, there used to be a save point with a nearby hidden chest. In the remake, this chest and save point appearsafterthe maze and before the boss battle. As a refresher, here’s the path you’ll need to follow if you’ve already recruited Geno.

You’ll find the final hidden chest on the bottom-left corner of the map, revealing a Red Essence. Congrats on finding all the chests!
