It’s back in development
It’s still unclearwhat exactly went downwithAllison Road.
TheP.T.-inspired horror adventure game went from seeking Kickstarter funding to having a publisher in Team17, and just as things were looking their most hopeful, the project was canceled.
“Sometime[s] things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity,” developer Lilith Ltd. said at the time. It’s equally unexpected, then, to hear thatAllison Roadhas suddenly reentered production, albeit on a smaller scale.

Creator Chris Kesler, speaking to IGN, explained part of what happened: “After the set back, I took a bit of a break from working on it and re-evaluated all the work that had been done so far — the whole journey, so to speak. I started making a few (in my opinion) necessary changes to the story and the flow, little bits and pieces here and there, and before I knew it, it sort of naturally came back to life.”
So while there’s progress, this will take time. Kesler is, for now, without a full team.

“For our gameplay trailer, I did all the modeling, texturing, shaders, lighting, etc., and thankfully a lot of the mechanics are already implemented from the previous development phase, so I can comfortably take the game forward by myself,” he said. “If and when it comes to a point where new features and mechanics are required, or old ones need changing, I’ll go look for support.”
Kesler added a little more context to the situation in apost on Facebook. “Moving forward from here I just want you to know that I do plan to post more updates than in the past, however, they have to be quite selective as you can imagine, as I don’t want to spoil things. One thing I also plan to do (which I always quite enjoyed) is to post more workflow stuff. So be prepared!”
