Of course, that’s hardly a bad thing, since in Japan picking someone’s ears (with consent)is considered a sign of intimacy. The ear-cleaning spear in this case is shaped more like a trademark, one filed by Atlus for “Gungnir” which is also the name of the Norse godOdin’s favorite pointy people-killing device.
Odin’s a common feature of Atlus games, making appearances in the demon/persona roster of nearly everyMegami Tenseirelease, shown as above in his naked, purple-skinned, Piccolo-esque glory.Siliconera wonderedif the name might have any connection toOdin Sphere, another Norse-themed game, but that was developed by Vanillaware, who’ve licensed their work out to other publishers besides Atlus. Plus, in that game, Odin fought with car-sizedfists.
What could it be? A new IP? A pachinko machine? An Atlus-published sequel toViking: Battle for Asgard? What do you think will be tipping the trademark?
