The studio has dev kits, but they ‘only collect dust’
Avalanche Studios, the team best known for theJust Causefranchise, isn’t shy about its position on the Wii U. It simply has no interest in developing games on Nintendo’s console. Not yet, at least.
In an interview withPressFirewhich was translated by Flightmare atNeoGAF, Christofer Sundberg, the studio’s founder, bluntly said that his team has no plans for the Wii U until the console’s install base is larger. The Swedish development team has Wii U dev kits, but they’re just sitting around and collecting dust.

Sundberg went on to partially credit Nintendo’s lines of communication (or lack thereof) for Avalanche’s unwillingness to expand its horizons. “Nintendo, from our point of view, has always been difficult to reach. You never quite know who to contact.” he stated.
Sundberg added that he believes that Nintendo would gain from taking a page from Sony’s book. “By taking the same path as Sony, and reaching out a hand to the developers, the developers would be more enthusiastic and perhaps want to make something cool and good. In Nintendo’s case, it could be the use of the GamePad controller.”
