When I first heard everyone would need to come together and rack up a combined 43 million kills to unlock the fourth map forBattlefield 1943, I never would have guessed such a seemingly lofty goal could be accomplished in under a week.

I don’t know how you guys did it, but you did it, Xbox 360 players. “Coral Sea” has been unlocked, and you can now choose “Play Air Superiority” from the game’s main menu. PlayStation 3 owners, you aren’t quite there yet, but you’re making progress.

Air Superiority, as the name implies, is all about battling it out in the sky. Each team gets two aircraft carriers, both of which offer a steady supply of planes, and from there, it’s more or less a bunch of guys blowing each other up. The best part of this mode, at least for me, is the greater potential for kamikaze attacks.

My gut reaction to “Coral Sea” is that it’ll be great every once in a while when you need a break from control point capturing, but it’s no replacement for the standard mode. Perhaps that’s why you may’t find it in the same quick match rotation as the three stock maps.

The opening area of the Whisper mission, in a small grove.

The Divide in the Cosmodrome, where the Guardian was resurrected.

A holofoil Ribbontail, as seen in collections.

The Phoneutria Fera hand cannon, inspired by the Season of the Haunted armor set. It has a unique, galactic glow.

Three Fuses appear in a match of Apex Legends' Wild Card mode.

Mad Maggie opens a supply bin and an item with a symbol indicating infinite ammo appears.
