Right on the heels of Dragonborn PC

While it would have been nice to seeDragonbornforThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimhit PC earlier than it did, the Steam release is now behind us, and Bethesda has a nice bonus on top of it. For those users who can handle high-resolution textures, the studio has put out an update which offers improved textures forDawnguard,Hearthfire, and the aforementioned add-on.

“Before you download, verify your PC has the horsepower to support it,”cautions Bethesda. “Make sure your system requirements exceedSkyrim‘s recommended specs before attempting to install, and that your PC has Windows Vista/7, a minimum of 4GB of system RAM, and a DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with at least 1 GB of RAM and the latest drivers.”

Speaking ofSkyrim, I need to get around to reinstalling one of these days — I’m now physically and mentally ready to spend a weekend screwing around with mods. From the looks of it, there’s plenty of catching up to do.
