Importers rejoice!

During the Nintendo Direct the other night, Square Enix announced it would be bringing re-releases ofDragon Quest 1,2, and3to the console in Japan. While it’s unlikely that the West won’t get them, there hasn’t been any confirmation of their existence. Thankfully, if you don’t want to wait or the ports don’t show up, the Asian release of the trio will have an English language option available.

Sweetening the deal, Asia will also be getting a physical release of the three games. All of the games will be included on a single cartridge (thank god) with English, Korean, and Traditional Chinese language options in tow. The digital versions are planned for a release on August 09, 2025, but the physical version is simply listed as “2019” on theSquare Enix Asia Facebook page.

Regardless, waiting a little longer to get this collection in a physical form isn’t so bad. God bless you lack of region locking.
