Tilt-to-steer, anyone?

In a roundtable discussion tonight after the PS4 announcement, Evolution Studios’ director Matt Southern said that tilt-to-steer control with the newly announcedDualShock 4will be one of the control options for their PS4 launch racing gameDriveClub, and that he expects it will be the preferred control mode for most players.

Southern said that one of the most enjoyable aspects of contributing to the development of the PS4 hardware was getting to send in input on the controller. As a developer that makes racing games, they wanted to emulate the feeling of a steering wheel with the DualShock 4, he says.

Apparently they nailed that feeling as Southern says that they’re “really, really pleased” with how the controller works for their game.

“I think it’ll be pretty much the way everybody chooses to playDriveClub,” Southern said of the controller in a tilt-to-steer mode.

We’ll have to get our hands onDriveCluband the controller to know what Southern is talking about, but as of now I see nothing about the DualShock 4 makes me want to reach out and wag it around like a steering wheel.
