Not too long ago, I jokingly predicted it would only be a matter of time until a sickElden Ringfan beat the game using something silly like a deadly venom-filled jellyfish as a controller. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Players are seemingly getting serious and building theweapons they see in the gameand turning them into the controllers they’ll use to take over the Lands Between.

That’s the story ofLouis 64, a YouTuber and likely contender to the title of IRL Elden Lord, who’s just shown his greatsword-shaped controller. If you look at the video below, you’ll notice that he’s not talking about a greatsword with some buttons on it, like that legendaryResident Evil 4chainsaw controllerfrom 20 years ago, but rather about a motion controller than Louis swings in real life to get his character to replicate his moves in the game.

Louis and his “controller”

Final#EldenRingGreatsword Controller Test!Today we worked a bit on the motion controls by adding in a Guard stance by lifting it vertically. Watch for ceiling fans they we’re mean!A few bugs left but in the next update the full build will be completed. See ya soon 💪pic.twitter.com/QwZfEtIWez

That’s damn heavy, absolutely wild, and possibly even dangerous — at least for all of the stuff Louis has on his walls, as one commenter on Twitter states. Still, I wouldn’t worry too much, as it’s far from Louis’ first adventure in swordsmithing. He’d recently made a buster sword that he used to bustFinal Fantasy Remakewith.

And he’s also the mind behind the absolutely bonkers idea of beatingElden Ringwith a literally absolutely bananas controller:

I’m sure Miyazaki would be extremely proud.

you may now playElden Ringon PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The highly anticipatedShadow Of The Erdtreewill come out on June 21.
