What? It’s on iOS but not Android? Inconceivable!

The Princess Brideis one of my all-time favorite movies. I have probably seen it a couple dozen times over the years. I have never thought that it would be great if I could play touch-based minigames based on the film. Regardless,The Princess Bride – The Official Gameis now out for iOS devices.

The game takes four scenes from the rising action of the movie and translates them into simple touch minigames; players won’t need six fingers on one hand to maneuver. Players are tasked with bashing shrieking eels, climbing the Cliffs of Insanity, fencing Inigo Montoya (left handed?), and wrestling Fezzik the giant. There is no battle of wits against Vizzini, no diving into lightning sand, no languishing in the Pit of Despair, no storming the castle, and no R.O.U.S.es. Rodents of unusual size? I don’t think they exist.

Judging from the gameplay in the trailer above, developer Gameblend Studios’ creativity is mostly dead (but slightly alive). Depending on how the game sells, the developers might end up UNEMPLOYED! IN GREENLAND!
