EVO 2013: Results, highlights, and all the hype

Villains defeated and new heroes crowned

Another year, another Evolution Championship Series under wraps. This year’s premiere fighting game tournament was by far the biggest to date boasting over 3,000 participants from over 30 countries, stretching across nine of the most elite games in the genre.

Three days of non-stop action, that began with some of the most intense semi-final matches to grace the first day of the tournament ever. There were multiple bouts, especially inSuper Street Fighter IVArcadeandUltimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3that could have easily been grand final championship fights. It was definitely a rollercoaster ride of emotion from start to finish.

Day three culminated in another justifiably crazy day full of upsets and memorable moments. The amount of heart on display was inspiring. Reigning champs were dethroned and new kings of the stick were crowned.
