It’s hardly surprising, but still worth reporting. Epic Games’ battle royale phenomenonFortnitehas proudly announced that it has passed a milestone for 8.3 million concurrent players.
The new figure was hit following the Free-to-Play free-for-allfinally seeing release in South Korea,which has brought a ton of new barricade builders to the cause.Fortnitehas amassed some five million players since February of this year, where the standing total was around 3.4 million riding the battle bus.
Just to clarify, that’s concurrent players, not just registered accounts. Mind-blowing. What with the constant content updates, uber-popular streamers such as Ninja, and various references in pop culture and celebrity twitter feeds, it looks like this license will be printing money for a long,longtime to come.
