We’ve heard rumors about them for a while, but now it’s finally been revealed that the Sony PSP is getting its answer to “Apps.” These freshly dubbed PSP Minis are small, 100MB games that take advantage of smaller development costs to provide quick, bite-sized games.
The service launches on October 1, and will have fifteen games when it debuts, with a whole FIFTY planned for 2009. Among the confirmed games areTetris, Fieldrunners, Hero of SpartaandMiniGore. The latter two are iPhone games, meaning that Apple’s titles are going multiplatform. Pretty hot news.

This has instantly made the PSP ten times more exciting to me. It has to be better than DSiWare, for sure.
