Murmuring Obols farming is a real event

Diablo 4isn’t quite an MMORPG, but it does feature some systems that make it feel like one. For example, Murmuring Obols are a mysterious currency that might catch you unaware. With the way loot drops in this game, you may have picked up stacks of the stuff with no idea where they came from!

You’ll need Murmuring Obols to purchase from the Purveyor of Curiosities in major cities. These vendors offer random gear in the slot of your choosing, as well as Whispering Keys. You’ll need these keys to open Silent Chests in the world, so you should invest in a few to keep with you while you explore. Of course, you’ll first need to figure out where to find Murmuring Obols before you can buy anything from the Purveyor to begin with. Let’s get into it.

Murmuring Obols

Where to find Obols inDiablo 4

In truth, Murmuring Obols come from several sources. For example, they can inadvertently show up as quest rewards. However, the best way to farm Murmuring Obols is by completing events in the overworld.

If you’ve been playingDiablo 4, you’ve likely seen events by now. These will appear as orange circles on your map, and other players can join to help complete them if they’re active. Events generally won’t last longer than a few minutes, and completing them will net you a stack of (hopefully) enticing loot. Among these rewards, you’ll find Obols.

Given the low amount of time it takes to clear events, you won’t find a better way to deliberately farm this currency. You may have trouble discovering events, as they won’t appear on your map until you’re close by. But once you have a mount, you’ll have an easier time traveling around and tracking these down.

That said, you should also consider taking down Legion Events for Obols. These will sporadically appear on your map with an intimidating skull marker, so you won’t miss them if they’re up. They can feel a bit inconvenient, especially since you only have five minutes until they start. However, they do drop better loot than your average event, so they’re worth the time to race towards.

In other words, whether you see Legion Events or regular Events, hit them whenever you see them to earn more Obols. Good luck farming!
