Mount collecting bondsFinal Fantasy XIVplayers all over the world. Some mounts, however, are more coveted than others, and possibly the most coveted of all is Astrope — a reward from the MMO’s Mentor Roulette.
A quick look onFFXIVCollectshows just how rare this mount is. Despite its debut way back in patch 3.3, only 0.6% of players registered with the site are in possession of this mount.
Getting the Astrope mount
Astrope is a two-seater, Pegasus type mount obtained by completing the achievement titled“I Hope Mentor Will Notice Me VI”. It’s a Mentor Roulette milestone requiring a mammoth level of dedication.
In order to possess Astrope in all of its glory, you must complete all of the requirements for becoming a mentor and then clear the duties needed to unlock Mentor Roulette. Once you’ve unlocked it, you’llneed to complete Mentor Roulette 2000 times. That’s a lot of roulettes, even for the most seasoned of players.
Is it worth it? Absolutely, but this grind is not for the faint of heart. Mentor Roulette can drop you into any duty in the game, including guildhests and extreme trials prior to theEndwalkerexpansion. One minute you could be running Sashtasha, and the next you’ll be in The Cloud Deck (Extreme). you may also only queue for Mentor Roulette as a solo player, even if you wish to queue with another mentor.
As you can see, there are a few hurdles to jump over in order to get the much coveted Astrope, but if you’re up to the challenge and patient enough to complete this grind, you’ll end up with one hell of a bragging point!
