Boosters can be some of the most useful parts of your loadout inHelldivers 2, offering subtle boosts that can save your life and be a real game changer.
However, the game makes it quite challenging to understand what some of them do. This is truest with the Localization Confusion Booster, an item that barely explains what benefits it offers, so you’ve got to work out what to do with it yourself.
How to use the Localization Confusion Booster in Helldivers 2
The Localization Confusion Booster increases the time between enemy reinforcements, so to use it inHelldivers 2, you need to equip it in missions on the top three highest difficulty modes: Suicide Mission, Impossible, and Helldive. While it works on all difficulty modes, it’s particularly effective and noticeable on these difficulties due the vast number of enemies that can be present.
The reason we know the Localization Confusion Booster increases the time between enemy reinforcements is thanks to a combination of the mostin-depth analysis and testingI’ve seen from a player in the game’s community and my own testing and use of the Booster in-game.
This doesn’t mean it’ll reduce the number of patrols on a planet or the frequency of spawns. It won’t even reduce the number of times enemies call for reinforcements. What it will do is make those reinforcements slower to arrive. During my testing, I saw enemy numbers thin out just enough to make missions that would usually feel overwhelming, like extraction missions, feel easy enough that they became manageable.
Usually, these missions see me running around like a headless chicken, looking for enemies to kill while simultaneously getting killed by a Tesla Tower or turret fire. TheElectrical Conduit armor perkhelps with the former at least. Not so with the Localization Confusion Booster, though. The Booster makes me look competent, and it’ll make you efficient enough to appear so on high difficulties, too.
How to get the Localization Confusion Booster in Heldivers 2
To get the Localization Confusion Booster inHelldivers 2, you must purchase it from theCutting Edge Warbond. This was the first premium Warbond to be added to the game, but if you take your time and earn Super Credits through the other Warbonds, youwon’t have to spend a penny extraon the game to get it as you naturally progress.
What mission types is the Localization Confusion Booster best used for in Helldivers 2?
Given the power the Localization Confusion Booster has to increase the time between enemy reinforcements slightly, it’s most useful in missions where enemy factions are pummeling Helldivers with sheer numbers. Having played a few missions with this Booster equipped, I feel like it’s incredibly useful in missions targeting hatcheries or refineries as well as wave-based ones.
Any mission where enemies regularly spawn and swarm you and your fellow Helldivers will feel a bit easier with this Booster equipped. The best one I ran with it was an evacuation mission against the Terminids, and that debuff to their reinforcements allowed my team and I to get every citizen we needed out and jump into the Pelican with no trouble at all. I died only once on Suicide Mission difficulty, and we were able to keep most of the bugs at bay with turrets thanks to the additional time we had between waves.
