Starstruck!
Television writer, director, producer, and all-around bad ass J.J. Abrams, and Valve boss Gabe Newell, will team up to host the opening keynote at the 2013 D.I.C.E. Summit on February 6 in Las Vegas. The two media powerhouses are teaming up for a session titled “Storytelling Across Platforms: Who Benefits Most, the Audience or the Player?”
I’ll tell you who benefits most: me. I’ll be in the audience, all starstruck, while at the same time passivelyheckling via Twitter.
Really, now: Abrams, the Emmy award-winning guy behindLost, Cloverfield, Fringe, Alias, Super 8, Star Trekand other great things, up on stage with our Lord and Savior? This should begood.
Gabe Newell will also give a second keynote at D.I.C.E. called “A View on the Next Steps.” It’s probably my most anticipated keynote of the event. He’ll also be honored asthe next AIAS Hall of Fame inductee. Big week for our guy.
