‘Not leaving Metal Gear behind’

A Konami representative has rubbished reports that the developer/publisher has ceased making video games for consoles.

Although the company has not officially responded to the speculation, a Konami rep responded to areddit User(viaNintendo Life), stating that it was “definitely not” turning its back on console game production.

“I can promise you that we’re definitely not leavingMetal Gearbehind or anything like that,” wrote the rep in an email.

“I know some blogs were claiming that online this morning, but I’m not really sure where they’d be getting that from.”

“We’re still definitely working on console games and franchises such asMetal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, PESand all the rest.”

“I know there’s a lot of folks out there that really want us to say it’s otherwise, for some reason, but it’s just not true. Those teams are definitely still working on designing and programming great games.”

Like all of the Konami rumors to date, this must be taken with a pinch of salt as there’s no corroboration either way, but forPES,Castlevania,Silent Hill, andMetal Gearfans everywhere, let’s hope it’s true.
