Crescent Moon Games cites Metroid as an influence

If the idea of exploring arealistic facsimile of Marsisn’t your jam, then perhaps the more fantastic approach thatMines of Marstakes will be a bit more tantalizing. Developer Crescent Moon Games describes it as a “procedural atmospheric mining game” and cites bothMetroidandMotherlodeas influences.

The music in the trailer definitely has aMetroidfeel to it, though the art style reminds me more ofBlocks That Matterthan anything else.Mines of Marspromises a variety of extraterrestrial flora and fauna, as well as an explanation for why life on Mars had been hidden thus far. Nothing gets me excited like quasi-plausible alien life, especially some so close to home.
