McMillen reports recreation of original assets largely complete

Edmund McMillen has revealed a new sheet of sprites for the upcoming remake of his surprise hit game,The Binding of Isaac. In a post to his personal blog, McMillen accompanied the images with news that a large percentage of the original game’s assets have now been recreated in the new style and that the artists are now working on animations. Once the old stuff has been transitioned over, the team will begin work on the new content.

I’ve sunk more hours than I care to think about intoThe Binding of Isaacand the thought of getting an enhanced version with even more stuff to collect and honest-to-God controller support fills me with incredible dread. This could be the game that kills me. They’ll say, “Hey, remember that Zimmerman guy who literally wasted into oblivion playingBinding of Isaac? What a tool.” At least I’ll die doing what I love.
