What gives?
[Update:Oh good! “The original version ofBayonettawill be available via a digital download on eShop when you purchaseBayonetta 2(either a box version or digital copy of the game),” says Nintendo. Glad that’s settled.]
This morning, we were toldBayonettawould beincluded for free withBayonetta 2when the sequel releases in October for Wii U. It has since come to light that the offer is apparently only valid for retail copies ofBayonetta 2, however — not eShop purchases. Bummer!

That info comes straight fromNintendo’s websitefor the game. I’m wondering if (and hoping that) there will be some sort of similar promotional offer for eShop users. Otherwise, retail it is!
This bundled Wii U version ofBayonettawill run at 60 frames per second. It features GamePad support (touchscreen controls and off-TV play), Japanese-language options (audio tracks and subtitles), and new Nintendo-themed costumes for Bayonetta, like the Hero of Hyrule outfit above.
