The latest trailer is pretty mental, with lots of violence and shouting, which is pretty much what you’d expect. The game’s out on August 17, and by all accounts, it seems to be a drastic improvement over the first title, which had bucketfuls of promise but stumbled in the execution....

What’s it going to take to get more people interested in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword? It’s already getting rave reviews, has a reported +100 of potential gameplay, andmore new features than aZeldagame has seen in years. Still, that doesn’t seem to be enough to get certain disenchanted gamers interested. It certainly isn’t because the game lacks sky. Maybe it lacks rim? I’m not sure. H1Z1 is a horrible name Sony Online Entertainment is making an open world zombie survival game calledH1Z1. Yeah, it’s blatantly going for the wholeDayZapproach. You can’t really blame them though. Game designer Jimmy Whisenhunt and technical director Tom Schenck from the SOE team took to Twitch recently and showed off 50 minutes ofH1Z1. The game’s producer, Yosuke Saito, took to Twitter to confirm the news, noting thatReplicant‘s new release was completely ready to go and went gold. In fact, they note that it had gone gold “quite a while ago,” and even has DLC approved. Tecmo Koei has announced a launch date forNinja Gaiden 3, along with a collector’s edition and pre-order bonuses. The controversial post-Itagaki action title will arrive in stores on March 20 for PS3 and Xbox 360. The collector’s edition contains aDead or Alive 5demo stage featuring four playable characters, and art book, soundtrack CD and “Duel of the Mask” figure. This package will cost $99.99 and is exclusive to GameStop and EB Games....

The future of eSports? Super Smash Bros. for the Wii Uwill always be remembered as the game that brought eight-player simultaneous combat to the series. Playing a fully populated match in the newSmashis like watching the same movie on five different screens at the same time, with each screen starting at a different scene in the film. Your brain can process everything properly for a second or two before its forcibly derailed or distracted, only to have it refocus again, then derail again, and so forth, all while fighting for your life in the process....

A real competitor for PSVR In an attempt to beat out its competition, we’ve seen a number of discounts to the Oculus Rift, but Oculus announced in ablog posttoday that they would be permanently bundling the Rift and its Touch controllers together for $499. Not only does this make the Rift significantly cheaper than the HTC Vive, which is priced at $800. It also now matches the price of the full PlayStation VR bundle....

Some of the details ofSplatterhouse‘s first entry into the current gen have been going around for a couple of years.
