Palutena! Kid Icarus: Uprisingis one of the most fun games I’ve ever played. Sure it was unwieldy, especially with the default control scheme, but it was ambitious as hell and basically a playable Saturday morning cartoon. It was worth it. Thankfully, he doesn’t look as basic as hisMortal Kombat Trilogycounterpart. For one, Kahn now has combo strings. Secondly, he isn’t based solely on overpowered moves, but more like brute force....

The colour of money Japanese magazine Famitsu has shared some sales figures for Nintendo paint-em-upSplatoon 2, and it has been a great debut week for the colour-drenched sequel. Within just the first three days of release, the game shifted 670,955 units in Japan. Not only does that beat the debut of the originalSplatoonby several hundred thousand copies, but it’s one third of thelifelongJapanese sales of the previous game. Chris Roberts’ ambitious space trading and combat simulatorStar Citizenhas come a long way since its crowdfunding beginnings back in2012. In this latest footage from gamescom 2014, Roberts and his staff demonstrate how multiplayer crew gameplay will work with three people operating the ship and one person manning a cinematic camera.
