For a while there, I thoughtNatural Selection 2was destined to become vaporware like so many sophomore efforts by mod developers (see:Tactical Intervention). Judging by the impressive trailer above and massive beta update,Natural Selection 2is making good progress toward retail. In the process, the game’s beta — available to those who have pre-ordered — keeps getting better and better. This recent update bring a wealth of fixes, improvements, and, most notably, new content....

A tale of two Funkos Would you like the good news first or the bad news first? People always pick bad news, right? Get it out of the way and go out on a high note? Okay, here goes: Funko is at it again. The toy manufacturer that makes its nut by drowning the world in soulless figurines of every pop culture character imaginable is…doing that exact thing again. The Saboteur’sstory takes place during World War II. It’s en vogue to call Pandemic Studio’s choice of time period mundane. There’s some merit to it: after all, we have explored this great confrontation in countless other titles. But just like the art design, Pandemic is twisting and tweaking, creating something better out of what we’re oh-so-familiar with. Having graphics more advanced than any RPG before it, people were blown away by how detailed the character models were. Time hasn’t been so kind to that fidelity, though. Like pretty much every other game from the PS1 era,Final Fantasy VIIIhas aged about as well as milk. Now, it’s a bit hard to take certain scenes seriously, especially the infamous“You’re the best-looking guy here” line....

Press, professionals, and attendees pack it in because the hottest games andjunk foodare there. Thrill of the hunt I haven’t spent much time withMonster Huntersince the first game on PlayStation2. I tried a few of the handheld entries but bounced off them without a significant time commitment. This PSP download is a good candidate for our Ten Minute Taste videos, as it has a really cinematic opening and great sound. The game itself is no slouch either. You’ll see the opening, some of the menus, and a bit of the first couple of missions in the game in our video. To tell you the truth, I didn’t know much aboutArmored Coreuntil I got this. Good game, though. I’ve been playing it quite a bit here lately....

Sony let us get a bit closer to the newly announced super slim PS3 model as well as the two new colors for the PlayStation Vita at their booth today.
