This Mass Effect 3 trailer has riots, crying, and dogs

The latestMass Effect 3commercial to run duringAMC’s hit TV showThe Walking Deadseems a little more capable at selling the title toMass Effectvirgins, but not by much. It’s nice that this trailer works to show us that there are many little side human dramas playing out amid the backdrop of the game’s climactic battle for the Earth. It’s not so nice that none of these dramas appear to involve any actual playable characters from the game....

Trine 4 is a whimsical return to form for the series

‘Delightful puzzles’ pretty much go hand in hand with Trine When I was first sold onTrine, all I needed to hear is that it was vaguely similar toThe Lost Vikings. I sought it out that very day. Over time, the magic ofTrinekind of waned a bit, and the dream almost came crashing down entirely withTrine 3. I had the chance to play the first six levels ofTrine 4, and was pleasantly surprised at how Frozenbyte seems to have turned things around....

Turn off motion controls in Elden Ring to avoid accidental gestures

Or, uh, just keep your controller really still This is a pretty straightforward pointer forElden Ringplayers on PS4/PS5, but it’s one I kept pushing off for way too long. Before you forget, youmaywant to turn off motion controls; otherwise, you could end up accidentally performing a gesture while you’re in the middle of an open-world skirmish or, worse yet, during a fully locked-in boss fight. Much likeBloodbornebefore it, I have definitely died from a motion-triggered gesture gone wrong inElden Ring....

AI in Steam games has increased sevenfold in a year–but it isn’t all black and white

Since 2024, the number of Steam-released games using AI content of any kind has increased by a whopping seven times. That means about 7,800 titles are making use of artificial intelligence, and though I’m not happy about it—there might be some validity in there. Per a pair of Totally Human Media studies, Steam only featured some 1,000 games with generative AI content in them in April of last year. Fast-forward to July 2025, and there are nearly 8,000 of them, accounting for about 20 percent of all Steam games released this year and seven percent of the entire Steam library....
