Master toy-makers Kotobukiya are releasing a new figurine based onPersona 5’swindow-leaping protagonist, Joker, or Akira, or Fred, or whatever we’re calling him now. The poseable toy, which stands around 110mm in height, comes with a selection of cute accessories, such as a handgun and a dagger, as well as an array of alternate hands, hair and faceplates, allowing you to twist the Phantom Thieves’ captain into all sorts of dynamic poses....

Michel Ancel joins the cause! Continuing to proveit has no lovefor Ubisoft’sdecision to delayRayman Legends, the dev team behind the former Wii U exclusive is campaigning for a swifter release date. Developers have situated themselves outside Ubisoft Montpellier with a clear message — free Rayman! Joining the outcry is Rayman creator and design icon Michel Ancel. Meanwhile, Ubisoft’s Facebook page is besieged by a “Free Rayman” movement, as gamers appeal to whatever shred of human decency may yet lurk in the blackened hearts of publisher executives....

Alan Wake 2studio Remedy is keeping itself busy with a bunch of different projects. As of May 7, though, it’s decided to can one of those projects; specifically the Tencent fundedKestrel. The announcement comes viaa Remedy press release, which explains how the cancellation “allows Remedy to focus more on the other games in its portfolio.” As a reminder, the studio is currently working on aControlsequel alongside a multiplayer spin-off codenamedCondor, as well asremakes of the first twoMax Paynegames....

Dunnn…dun…dun… Everyone remembers the iconic Shinra theme fromFinal Fantasy VII. The shadowy, sleazy company is probably one of the most interesting parts of the game, and members of the organization even make their way into spinoffs likeAdvent Children. Square Enix seems to be up to something, as they’ve trademarked “Shinra Company” for use in Japan — with the intention of using it in a videogame. Not a whole lot is known at this point, but maybe we’ll see a spinoff with the Turks, or, you know —anotherfree-to-play browser/mobile game....

Just as the solar eclipse is peaking in Japan comes news thatSuperbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EPis set to bereleased in Japan! Superbrothers and Capybara Games will be releasing one my favorite iOS games of all time in Japan with the help of 8-4, Ltd. on June 21. This launch will include the iOS versions, as well as the PC and Mac versions via Steam. Additionally, there’s going to be a remix album released on June 21 too!...

Still due in March after a delay I hope that extra little delay helped id Software makeDoom Eternalthat much shinier come March, but based on this new trailer, it seems like it did the trick. This newly revealed footage gives us a look at the Gladiator and Marauder enemies, as well as the Crucible weapon and a collection of glory kills (one of the only aspects I nitpicked inDoom2016). As expected, id is going deeper into the story angle here, which was done masterfully in the last iteration in a way that felt like great worldbuilding without hamstringing the action....
