ThePS3 Jailbreak fiascojust keeps getting crazier. The latest development is the launch of a new app (obviously not getting linked to here) that can unlock every Trophy in a given PlayStation 3 game automatically, with random timestamps for added believability.

It’s not yet clear if the app can sync Trophies to the PlayStation Network. If it does, this could have serious implications for the reward system, and ostensibly make a mess of the entire thing. It will at least render Trophies even more worthless than they already are, which is saying something.

A few games, notablyResident Evil 5: Gold EditionandBatman:Arkham Asylum, have proven impervious to violation. Sony says it is looking into the situation and will find a fix. Looks like even more firmware updates are on the way, folks!

Right now, the PS3 is a flyblown carcass getting picked apart by scavengers. Like that animatronic dinosaur in the Natural History Museum. You know the one.
