I am extremely emotional today. Not only is the long awaitedRetroforceGIVE! Mega Drive charity auctionfinally live on eBay, but when I think about the amount of stuff you all donated to make this happen it gets me rather teary-eyed. You are all wonderful people and none of this would have happened without you.
For those of you that haven’t been following this, a couple months ago, my friends atRetroforceGO!and I — in collaboration with a secret, high-profile industry insider — organized a retro game charity auction that would donate all of its proceeds toChild’s Play(a non-profit that provides children’s hospitals with videogames). We asked for donations from you guys, and, boy, did you ever answer the call.
Honestly, I don’t think you are ready for this: In total, almost 1000 various retro games, toys, and accessories (including consoles!) were donated. Yeah, you read that right:one thousand.
The Mega Drive is being split into five separate, simultaneous auctions that will run for ten days (ending 3/29). Thefirst, and most massive, is one giant package containing 750 different collectible retro games, 10 different systems, and various videogame memorabilia (you can clickherefor the eBay link).
