PS4 versus PS2, fight!
What’s the best part about getting a remaster? The comparison videos of course!
AndYouTube user Cycu1has done just that forFinal Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, matching up the new remastered footage on PS4 with the original on PS2. All told it doesn’t look like that much of an improvement (the original still looks good!), but you know what? As long as the game is intact, and the International version content is in there (it is), I’m good.
Final Fantasy XIIis a long-forgotten relic in many ways.XIIIcreated so much ire for the series that some people have checked out entirely, andXIalienated some core fans by nature of being an MMO (some tenets of whichXIIadopted wholesale). It also didn’t help that the PS3 came out meremonthsafterXIIwas released, leaving it to a similar fate asChip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2on NES, andMinish Capon the Game Boy Advance — unable to fully spread its wings in the shadow of a newer, shinier console.
It’ll be really interesting to see how it’s received when it drops in 2017.
