The Staff of Light is a Legendary Weapon that unlocks after completing a sidequest inRuneScape Dragonwilds.
You can complete it early in your journey, as the enemies here are not difficult to defeat, even if you’re at a lower Power Level. Here’s everything to know about finding the Staff of Light, starting from activating the quest, followed by all the steps you need to follow.

Where to find the Staff of Light in RuneScape Dragonwilds
You can find the Staff of Light near the Dragonkin Vault, which is located north of Temple Woods.
Now, to get your hands on this weapon, you have to start theHighlighting The Problemsidequest. To do that, you musthead inside the Runecrafting Guild(take the left route) andspeak to the Wizard Statue.
Once you press “E” to interact with the statue, it will ask you for a password and give you three options to choose from:
All three options are wrong, but selecting one is the key to getting the quest triggered.
The Highlighting The Problem sidequest has three objectives to complete:
Investigate the area for clues about the statue
Right after interacting with the Wizard Statue, move behind it to find a glowing lore book – open and read it. You will then come to know that the actual password is hidden inside a Dragonkin Vault. This Vault is located northeast of the Guild Tower.
As you go through the vault, you’ll come across an open area with four Giant Rat enemies and what appears to be a broken staircase that doesn’t look like anything else in the vault. You need to jump up to this section to find a hidden statue.
Once you’re near it, head inside and keepAir Runesready, as you’ll need to use theWindstep spell(costs 5x Air Runes)to jump higher once you’re midway through and near an elevated platform.
Use the Windstep spell to get on top of it,move left, and you’ll gradually move into a dark room with a statue that’s glowing blue. Interact with it, and this will start the second part of the quest. There’s also a treasure chest right beside it. Don’t forget to loot it to earn valuables such as Runes, wood, and more.
You will face multiple enemies on your way to the room, so make sure you’re protected enough for combat, includinghaving ranged weapons like a Bow.
Search the Runecrafting Guild for a statue
This is the second part of the quest, where you will need to head back to the Wizard Statue inside the Runecrafting Guild. Interact with it and you will again get three options:
Choose the first option,Pthentorok, as it’s the right answer to unlock the mysterious orb. Then comes the final objective of the quest, and this is a little tricky.
Find a way to power up the Orb
This objective will ask you to retrieve a crystal orb from within the Guild. To do that, you have to charge the orb on the pedestals around the Guild, located on top of the three towers inside.
Again, the best way to get on top of them is by using the Windstep spell again. Interact with these three pedestals, and go back to the Wizard Statue. Interact with it to unlock the recipe of the Staff of Light. Let’s now take a look at how you can craft it.
