The fact that a newStar Foxgame is set for release this year still feels a little surreal. Fan expectations are bound to be high, as the wait for this one has been long and hard. That may seem like a bad thing for Nintendo, as it has a lot to lose if the game stinks, but the fact that people still care enough about this little 3D shmup series is something to be grateful for.
Instead of eventually fading away, it looks likeStar Foxmight be more popular than ever. That’s certainly how it appears on certain areas of the internet, where Fox-relatedSmash Bros.memes, “Do a Barrel Roll” references, and other relatedStar Foxfan happenings are still at a high.
You’d think that anthropomorphic animals would eventually go out of style, but if Rocket Raccoon,Regular Show, and that gosh darn Lucario amiibo are any indication, the public’s fascination with furry talking friends isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Upon limited inspection, it was easy to discover that there is already a sizable crossover betweenStar FoxandRegular Showfans in particular.
