Now at Hitman developer IO Interactive

The Divsiondirector Ryan Barnard has left Ubisoft to take a post at IO Interactive, the Copenhagen-based Square Enix subsidiary behind titles likeHitmanandKane & Lynch.

According to Square Enix (viaMCV), Barnard is now the studio’s gameplay director, a newly-created role that entails heading up three of IO’s core teams: gameplay, online, and world.

“Ryan’s contributions to game design over the years show he’s the ideal person to spearhead the coming efforts,” Square Enix told MCV. “We are very happy to add his talent to the pool of great people working at IO.”

Before joining Ubisoft’s Swedish satellite Massive Entertainment, Barnard previously worked at Sony Online Entertainment (now Daybreak) onEverQuest II, Crytek, andWarhammer Onlinedev EA Mythic.
