Ages changed, underwear extended, boobs set ablaze
It is a day that ends in ‘y’ which means another Japanese game is getting localized, and people on the internet are calling it censorship. This time, the game is the Wii U exclusiveTokyo Mirage Sessions #FE—which is only a slightly better name thanhtoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary—a crossover title between theFire EmblemandShin Megami Tenseiseries that has the characters singing, dancing, and fighting.
As shown in the video above, the chapter-one boss has had her breasts set ablaze with some dark fire in the Western localization, versus the Japanese version which had them mostly exposed with just small coverings on the nipples. Having been on the internet in the past year, I know that a fictional character’s breasts not being as exposed as they were in the Japanese version of a game is very upsetting to some, but I don’t see the big deal.

The flaming boss boobies is just one change of many made duringAtlus’ localization. There is also astripping scenewhere a character who wore a bikini now has an early Avril Lavigne-looking outfit, ages have been raisedfrom 17 to 18, andother bits of underwear were made less revealingor otherwise altered. But really, does it matter? The gameplay is seemingly unchanged so far.
Covered boobies, new outfits, and slightly changed underwear don’t do much for me either way, but if they removed thedick monsters, then I might care.
