Out of the four SMGs currently available inXDefiant, public perception leans toward the MP7 being the best option. However,XDefiantdeveloper ACHES pointed out the Vector as his favorite and provided a set of attachments that will help you elevate your game to another level.

DuringXDefiant’sthree-year development period, few people have had more time playing the free-to-play title than ACHES, who joined Ubisoft as a game developer to help finish the project. The formerCall of Dutyworld champion is no stranger to dominating FPS titles, and he has an inside scoop on which weapons perform best. Consensus highlights the MP7 as the best SMG inXDefiant, but statistics tell a different story.

According toTrueGameData, the Vector has the fastest time-to-kill speed among all SMGS up to 13 meters at 300 milliseconds. In comparison, the MP7 clocks in at 345 ms. In saying that, the Vector does suffer a major drop-off after the first initial 13 meters, while the other SMGs remain relatively consistent. But for anything after that first damage range you are better off using an AR anyways, so this knock shouldn’t be too much of a deterrent.

Another downside is the Vector’s relatively small magazine size, which holds 25 rounds. In comparison, the P90 can hold 50 rounds but does kill slightly slower. To compensate for that deficiency, ACHES upped that ammo count and made a few other modifications that make this SMG lethal in any short-range engagement.

TheExtended Magis arguably the most important attachment, as it increases the magazine size from 25 rounds to 40. Next, theChrome Lined barrelimproves short—and long-range damage at the cost of ADS time and sprint speed. To compensate for that mobility loss, theQuick Draw Gripimproves ADS time and sprint to fire time. In addition, theLightweight rear griphelps recoup lost sprint and ADS movement speed. And then to round off the loadout, theSuperlightgrip also improves ADS time and sprint speed to lean into the weapon’s short-range strengths.
